A few Problems with Micro-Tech Hearing Aids

by Marshall
(San Angelo,TX)

I have had the micro tech aids since last Oct 2011 and have had to send both of them back at different times and the right one quit working last night. Now I will have to send it back again.

Its 2 weeks before they have got them back to me. Not impressed so far.

Microtech RIC Axio ST Impulse Technology NEW
by: Joyce in GA

I got these hearing aids in Sept or Oct of 2010. At first they were really great, but of course I needed to go back to my audiologist for adjustments here and there. Overall I've been happy with them; however, I've had issues with the left one on and off. It has been sent off for repair three times (the first time was right after I received them, but that was my fault--my new rescue dog got a hold of it. It was under warranty). But it's been sent off probably three times since then. Once I had to pay for repair, but the other times it was under warranty. I have an awesomely amazing audiologist who works with me on getting them back in a week. She is the saving grace for me. I just got the left one back yesterday, and it's good, but I suspect it will probably stop working again at some point. I'm just glad I have my audiologist to help me get a new pair when needed. Mine were only $1300 each in 2010. I have to say I've been pretty happy with them, but I wish they had a wider range of sound adjustment, because sometimes I can hear people talking but can't tell what they are saying, and that's frustrating. Shouldn't be like that with hearing aids. I know they won't be perfect, but I expect better than that.

Micro-Tech Hearing Aid Problems
by: Anonymous

I have owned my Mirco Tech hearing aids for about 3 years and I have not been satisfied. I sent them back for repair and have multiple problems with them. Plus they do not have representatives located in Charlotte, NC where I now live.

Propel 50 hearing aids
by: Anonymous

I have had Micro tech Propel 50 hearing aids since late 2012. They have had problems from the beginning. They work when they feel like it. They have allegedly been replaced twice but it's the same every time.

They shut down sometimes for several hours then start working again. In my opinion, they are not good quality and certainly not worth $3000 each. I would not recommend these hearing aids.

Bad hearing aids
by: Anonymous

I've had my Mobility hearing aids since 03/11, and I've had to go back to dispenser on average of every 3-4 weeks due to adjustment problems and volume.

I have never had a worse set of aids. These have bluetooth and wireless technology. I have no issue with this.

But each time I go to audiologist or send them back to MN, they come back great. And every time, within 2-3 weeks after adjustment or repair, I'm back to the problem of lack of volume.

In the beginning, the audiologist told me that Starkey or Microtech had made great strides in their hearing aid technology. It's hard to believe that I fell for that line!

I'm now studying a legal recourse against Microtech and maybe hire a lemon law lawyer.

Frustrated with Microtech Hearing Aids
by: Tonya

I bought my microtech aids about 3 years ago and have had so many problems with them.

Not impressed with them and would not recommend them to anyone. I am in the process to get them fixed......AGAIN.

I am not hard on them. I remove them when working out, sleeping, and when wearing helmets while snowmobiling. I would say that I have had to have something fixed about every 8 weeks. Who has time for that? Not me!
