Review of Costco hearing aids

As with anything, be careful of what you are purchasing - I am an audiologist for another company (yes, the competition).

I have heard a few bad reviews from patients regarding Costco hearing aid technicians. Some of the people fitting the hearing aids do not seem to understand how to properly program the hearing aids and are not even clear on what a fittable hearing loss is.

Saw someone today who does have mild high-frequency hearing loss, but should not be fit with hearing aids yet. She says they do not help her at all and she paid a "fortune" for them.

When she tried to get help from Costco, the technician who fit her was gone and the only person available was a pharmacy worker.
Costco may be less expensive, but remember, aftercare is very important and worth a higher cost up front.

Terrible customer service
by: Ed S

Went to store in Waltham with an audiogram from my ENT. I did not know that Costco insisted on a new hearing test, never saw anything on website.

Staff was rude. Never will go back. Avoid Costco in Waltham, Ma.

Satisfied Customer of Rexton BTE Hearing Aids from Costco
by: Anonymous

I have used a pair of Rexton BTE hearing aids from Costco for the past 10 years. When I first bought them I priced the same model hearing aid around town at 180% to 250% of the Costco price.

I live in British Columbia, Canada and am very satisfied with the service I've received from the hearing staff though they are very busy and appointments are necessary. The last appointment took a month, though the typical is about 2 weeks.
Followup visits years after purchase for cleaning, adjustment, testing etc. have been efficient, thorough and successful.

I have a definite preference for one of the two hearing staff & ask for him by name when setting up appointments.

Overall, a positive experience at half the cost.

ReSound - No, No
by: Anonymous

I was fitted with a pair of ReSound Verso 9 at Costco and wore them for about 3 weeks. I listed my concerns and problems during the trial period with two handwritten pages and returned the aids.

At the end, I requested to try the more costly Rexton aids but was told by the technician that "we don't do that anymore".

I got my refund and that experience ended my relationship with Costco.

Costco service

Sorry, but I don't buy that. Costco has audiologists as well as technicians. You do have to make an appointment usually just like anywhere else.
